Super Easy Stir-Fry

Who doesn’t love a stir-fry? One of the quickest meals to whip up when you are short for time, full of flavour and super healthy too. The beauty about a stir-fry is that you can add anything you have in your fridge, as long as you include one protein source (meat/ eggs/ fish/ tofu), complex carb source (unlimited non-starchy vegetables, quinoa, brown rice, kumara) and healthy fats (coconut oil, seeds, avocado, nut butter). This is a basic recipe below but feel free to mix it up and add any other nutritious ingredient at home!

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 500gm Beef Sirloin, cut into strips

  • 1 x broccoli, chopped finely

  • 2 x carrots, grated

  • 1 x onion, chopped

  • 1 x leek, chopped

  • 2 x courgette, chopped finely

  • 1 x capsicum, chopped finely

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 x cloves garlic

  • 1 tbsp sesame seedssalt/ pepper to taste


  1. Heat sesame oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat; cook and stir beef until browned, 3 to 4 minutes. Move beef to the side of the wok and add broccoli, capsicum, carrots, onion, leek, courgettes, and garlic to the center of the wok. Cook and stir vegetables for 5 minutes. Stir beef into vegetables and season with soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame seeds. Continue to cook and stir until vegetables are tender, about 2-4 more minutes.

  2. I love my vegetables to be crunchy so I generally only cook for 2 minutes and this way you obtain all the nutrients inside the vegetable too! Garnish with coriander and sunflower/ pumpkin seeds.
