Liver Cleansing Lemon Smoothie

This liver cleansing lemon smoothie will be a much needed drink over the Christmas and New Year’s period. We use the whole lemon because then you don’t lose any of the good nutrients from the lemon rind like the fibre and citrus bio-flavonoids. This smoothie is great for your liver detoxification pathway and a yummy drink to have first thing in the morning or afternoon on a hot sunny day! 


Ingredients (serves 1) 

  • 1 whole organic lemon (don't waste anything, use the whole lemon)

  • 1 banana 

  • 1 scoop natural protein powder or 2 tbsp hydrolysed collagen 

  • 1 cup organic unsweetened almond milk 

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 2 Brazil nuts 

  • Ice/ water

  • 1 tbsp honey or 2 figs (optional if you need an extra bit of sweetness)


Method 

  1. Place all ingredients in blender or Nutri bullet and blend until smooth. Serve on ice and drink immediately.
