Homemade Baked Beans

Ingredients (2 serves) :

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion, chopped 

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 tsp cumin 

  • 2 tsp paprika 

  • 1 tbsp Worcester sauce  

  • 1/2 tsp dried herbs

  • 400g tinned tomatoes 

  • 3 tbsp tomato chutney 

  • 400g can butter beans 

  • 400g can kidney beans


  1. Heat oil in a large fry pan on medium heat. Cook onion and garlic until soft, 3-5 minutes. Add cumin, paprika, dried herbs, tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans and Worcestershire sauce.

  2. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until sauce has thickened. Serve on 1-2 pieces of paleo/sourdough piece of toast with 1 x fried egg on top (optional) and garnish with parsley.

** For males or physically active females, have two pieces of toast.
